- Sub: a house for MacApp.Tech-MAP
-
- I think that the problem with MACAPP.TECH$ is not a problem of MACAPP.TECH$,
- but a problem of AppleLink. This service was created (I think) initially as a
- E-mail and information storage service. This services run OK but what I want of
- a good BBS software is to read automaticaly al new messages of a conference
- (like MacApp.Tech$) WITHOUT mixing with my mail.
- I think that the best solution implies to modify AppleLink software and this is
- not feasible. The second best solution for me is:
- - Create a new icon for MacApp, inside it you can have some folder, including
- one for the 'Guerrilla projects' another for 'general discusions' and so on.
- And the new messages would appear only to interested people and wouldn't mix
- with other developers messages. The problem is that Apple perhaps won't want to
- create this icon. (what about it Jessa?)
- - AND have a second icon (too much?) of library (ala 'Technical Info'). all
- messages (except those on 'take me out of macapp.tech' and so on) would be
- introduced there so anyone could search quickly about Tview or any other.
-
- A simpler solution that can be made now would be that everyone in the subject
- field include some small code, like 'MAP' that would tell to the receiver that
- this is a MacApp message and not a private mail. This implies some self
- discipline, but not too much.
